IF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR

Everyone’s using AI.
Nobody explains how.

You’ve had the conversation. Someone at work mentions what AI does for them now. A mate says it saved them an afternoon. You nod along.

Then you open it yourself, type something, get back three paragraphs of waffle, and think: right, so what am I missing?

A disappointing answer doesn’t mean AI isn’t for you. Often, the missing piece is a clear brief: what you need, what the Bot should use and what a useful result looks like. Then you need a way to check it.

That’s what this guide helps you practise.

A SMALLER, CLEARER FIRST STEP

Grok Bot can do a lot.
Start with one useful job.

You’ve seen what AI can do. The harder part is opening a new tool and knowing what to ask it.

This kit gives you a way in: clear explanations, complete everyday examples and prompts you can adapt. Learn to give a good brief, review the result and build on what works.

You don’t need an elaborate system to begin. You need a task that matters to you.

FROM CURIOUS TO CAPABLE

One Bot. One task.
Three simple steps.

A useful order to follow, with examples at every stage.

STEP 1 · GET COMFORTABLE

Give your Bot
one clear job.

Understand the essentials, set some boundaries and pick something small. A weekly plan, a shopping list or a comparison you’ve been meaning to make.

The aim: a checked first draft of something you would normally prepare yourself.

Setup, context & your first task

START SMALLOne job. A clear result. Something you can check.

STEP 2 · ASK WITH CLARITY

Trade a vague request
for a useful brief.

Follow the seven-line task brief. Give your Bot the goal, context and boundaries it needs, then tell it what a good result looks like.

The same seven lines can frame a meal plan, a job application or a client proposal. Change the task, keep the structure.

A better brief.

  1. The job to do
  2. The context that matters
  3. The information to use
  4. The result you want
  5. Your rules and boundaries
  6. What needs your approval
  7. How to check the result

STEP 3 · KEEP WHAT WORKS

Review it.
Improve it. Repeat it.

Learn what to check and how to ask for corrections. Save a useful prompt, give each Bot a clear role and build toward routines when they make sense.

With practice, you can spend less time working out how to ask and more time deciding what is useful enough to keep.

PLAIN ENGLISH IS THE STARTING POINT

If you can send a text,
you can start here.

You give Grok Bot instructions in ordinary language. You don’t need to write code to try the tasks in this guide. You do need an eligible account and the app, and some tasks need you to sign in to another service.

What often trips people up is not knowing what a good request looks like, or whether the answer they got back is any good.

That’s the subject of this guide. A clear first setup. A seven-line brief you can adapt. And a way to check the result, because an AI’s answer still needs your judgement.

The guide uses plain English throughout, with a one-page glossary on page 68 for unfamiliar terms.

Product access and setup checked 16 September 2026. See current official requirements.

USE IT FOR YOUR ACTUAL LIFE

Small jobs.
A very useful start.

The guide walks through 12 everyday projects with a brief, a prompt and a result to review. Pick one that feels familiar.

Also inside: hosting, job applications, organising folders, preparing for a conversation, moving and finding a class.

ONE OF 12 GUIDED PROJECTS

Five dinners.
One shopping list.

Give your Bot your budget, dietary preferences and what’s already in the fridge. Ask for a practical plan for the week.

THE RESULT YOU’LL ASK FORA five-night dinner plan, a grouped shopping list and a quick check of what you already have. Review ingredients and quantities before shopping.

A REAL PERSON. A REAL INBOX.

Who wrote this.

I’m Sean Strecker. I’ve worked in IT since 1999, including twelve years as a systems administrator for Australian Army Aviation, and I’ve built websites for over twenty years. Lifelong geek, basically.

I wrote this guide because I watched people around me try AI, get a disappointing answer, and decide it wasn’t for them. Often, a clearer brief was the missing piece.

This is the approach I use: a way to ask for something and a way to check what comes back. The guide’s worked examples show how that method fits ordinary tasks.

If something in the guide doesn’t make sense, email me directly: sean@strex.me. It’s a real inbox.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

A few good
questions.

Need a detail that isn’t covered here?

sean@strex.me
Do I need coding or AI experience?

No coding experience is needed. The guide starts with one small task and explains the essentials as you go. You will still need to access Grok Bot, follow its sign-in steps and review the results it produces.

What is included in the Starter Kit and bundle?

The Starter Kit contains the 72-page Grok Bot Starter Guide and a Markdown library with 50 copyable prompts and role profiles. The Starter Bundle adds the 16-page Pod & Practice Checklist, with worksheets, role cards and a seven-day practice log. At checkout, the kit is called “Grok Bot Starter Guide”.

Does this purchase include Grok Bot access?

No. You are buying educational downloads. Grok Bot access is separate, so check the official Grok Bot website and your account for current access, plans and device requirements before purchasing.

Is this just for business owners?

No. The guide begins with everyday jobs such as planning meals, organising a week, researching a purchase or preparing for a conversation. The later role profiles also cover common business tasks. Start with whichever task is useful to you.

How do I receive and use the files?

After successful payment, Lemon Squeezy provides your digital downloads and sends an email receipt. The books are PDFs, and the prompt library is a Markdown text file you can open in a text editor. Print the checklist on A4 paper or write over it with a PDF annotation app. It does not contain interactive fillable fields. No physical book is shipped.

What does “Pod” mean?

In the workbook, a Pod means a small group of Bots with clearly assigned roles. It is a teaching shorthand, not an official Grok Bot feature name. The 12 role profiles are instructions you can adapt, not pre-installed Bots. You can start with just one.

Is this an official xAI product?

No. This is an independent publication by Sean Strecker / STREX, not affiliated with or endorsed by xAI or Cursor. Edition 1.1 was checked against official sources on 8 September 2026. Product screens, features and account access can change; the guide links to official documentation for current details.

What if I need help or want a refund?

Email sean@strex.me. If your Grok Bot guide, checklist or bundle isn’t useful to you, ask within 30 days of purchase and I’ll refund it. No form, no reason required. For download problems, email the same address and I’ll sort it out. Lemon Squeezy handles the transaction and your receipt. See the purchase terms for the full policy. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law and equivalent consumer law in your country are unaffected. Your purchase is for personal use in your own learning and work; redistribution or resale of the files is not permitted.
